DNS Manager — Self-Service DNS Records for WHMCS · 1 / 2

Let your cPanel hosting clients manage their own DNS records — A, AAAA, CNAME, MX and TXT — straight from the WHMCS client area. Changes apply instantly via the WHM API, infrastructure and apex records stay locked, and you choose exactly which record types clients can edit. Fewer DNS tickets, a full change log, and multi-language support. Works on WHMCS 8 and 9.

Stop answering DNS tickets — let clients do it themselves

DNS Manager adds a DNS Manager link to every active cPanel service in the client area. Your clients add, edit and delete their own DNS records in seconds, and every change is written straight to the server's zone through the WHM API — no tickets, no manual edits, no risk to the hosting.

Key features

  • Full record management — add, edit and delete A, AAAA, CNAME, MX and TXT records.
  • You decide what's allowed — enable only the record types you want clients to touch.
  • Apex & infrastructure protection — SOA and NS records are read-only, and the root A/AAAA record that points the domain at your server can be locked so clients can't break their own site.
  • Built-in validation — real IPv4/IPv6 addresses, valid hostnames, TTL clamped to your minimum, and an optional maximum records per domain.
  • Instant — changes apply immediately on the server via the WHM API.
  • Change log — every client DNS change is recorded (who, what, when) and written to the WHMCS Activity Log, with optional admin email alerts.
  • Works on any theme — Six, Lagom and others; CSRF-protected throughout.
  • Multi-language — clients see it in their own WHMCS language; add your own translations easily.

Why hosts love it

DNS changes are one of the most common support requests for any hosting provider. DNS Manager turns them into self-service, cutting your ticket load while giving clients instant control of their domains — all inside your own WHMCS, with no third-party service.

How it works

  1. Client opens DNS Manager from their hosting service's Actions menu.
  2. They add or edit a record (type, name, value, TTL).
  3. DNS Manager validates it and writes it to the zone through WHM — live immediately.

Requirements

  • WHMCS 8.0 or later (including 9.x)
  • cPanel/WHM server(s) added in WHMCS, with a WHM API token (or root) that can edit DNS zones
  • PHP 7.2 or later with the ionCube Loader
